I "heart" all of it!

The ladies over at Old Soul, New Heart just debuted their spring collection. Oooooooh, it is SO CUTE! Every little piece has wonderful detail, and you can just tell that so much thought is put into their collection. Their hair accessories would have to be my favorite. I have always been a sucker for headbands...

in the summer, I love to do a low bun...these would be perfect pinned in the back!

And if the Easter Bunny wants to slip these into my basket, I wouldn't object...

Easter=the hardest holiday to dress for

In all my Easter glory...I believe this is 1980? Looks like I have a mouth full of food. yikes.

I truly love Easter and always have since I was little. My mom would let me pick out a dress from the Spiegel catalog, and we usually would find tights, shoes and some accessories to match. The sad thing about all of this is, we were normally bundled up with a huge coat and hat. Because as some of you know, in the midwest Easter doesn't necessarily mean spring weather!

Every year it seems impossible to find the appropriate thing to wear. Normally it's still cold, yet you don't really want to be wearing black or fall colors on Easter. I normally end up wearing a dress and tights and call it a day. This year, our weather is supposed to be in the 60's, maybe I won't have to wear a coat! HURRAY!

Here are some items that are inspiring my Easter outfit this year...Loving a blouse in a nice pop of color...

or even a cute fitted cardigan with some detail...

and these KILLER wide leg DVF pants in Navy. These would be worth the investment!

and a great necklace to complete the look...

BUT really, what I WANT to wear is this...too bad we aren't QUITE there yet!

Too cool for school

Meet Will. The coolest, most put together 4 year old I have ever met. I have become friends with Will's parents, and it is no surprise that at such a young age he would already have amazing personal style. This  is what he wore to a first Birthday party yesterday, I couldn't help but snap his picture and find out more about this cute little guy.

I got the scoop on Will, and I am pretty sure he is someone we need to watch out for in the future. Here are some of his answers to my questions:

1. What are your favorite things?
"Building with legos, anything Star Wars and reading scary books".  Someday he would like to be a "Mechanical Artist", who according to Will is someone who designs things and then builds them) OR "A guy that gets to travel the world and eat crazy food". Both sound FUN...and who doesn't want to travel the world and eat crazy food?!

2. What is your favorite clothing item?
Will recently picked out his first item of clothing and it was a blue baseball cap from Gap. Good Job Will, nice to see you are heading to accessories first! You are a man after my own heart!

3. Anything interesting to say about fashion or your personal style?
"I know you have to wear clothing, because if you don't you will get arrested". Yes, Will, this is true. Glad to see that he is a sensible little guy.

Here are some details about his amazing little outfit:
Corduroy Blazer: Crazy 8
Tee Shirt: Crew Cuts
Jeans: Gap
Shoes: Children's Place

These Lips...

I just purchased Nars Schiap which is part of their semi-matte lipstick line. I am in LOOOOVE. It's the perfect hot pink, great for summer with a soft subtle eye and a nice warm tan. I am kind of obsessed with this semi-matte finish, it is super long lasting, but not dry at all and has a really nice velvety finish. Here are some celebs sporting this look...I think Alexis Bledel is my favorite. What a stunner!

Sprinkles and Fluff

Cupcakes are certainly holding their own in the popularity department. Everything from party decor, to clothing, to housewares. They seem to be everywhere! I adore them (to eat) and I also think they make for a perfect birthday party theme. My niece had a Cup"Kate" themed party 3 years ago, here are some pics...

If you are planning a party for your little one and needed a cute outfit, Etsy has an AMAZING selection. Here are a few super sweet favorites...mixed in with a few of my own cupcake inspired hair bows!

The new "uniform"

I am over my yoga pants, and I am DEFINITELY over my terry cloth sweats. This summer I am going to have to come up with a new uniform for running around with my toddler. I am thinking something like this:

These linen fold over pants, which look so great I really wouldn't mind having every color  (Mollie...how do they fit?!)

With these tanks in about 6 colors...

With these shoes...

and TONS of great accessories like sheer scarves, big bracelets and some fabulous statement necklaces!

I really adore these dainty leather wrap bracelets by Gorjana

have been coveting this baby for a while

I would DIE. this necklace is spectacular.

I finally found what I have been looking for!

This winter has been brutal, so we have been trying to come up with any "out of the house" activity we can find. One of those being going to the "play area" at the mall. Gross, right? But my son loves it and there are all these plastic cars to climb on and things to slide down. My friend Gina brings her son Addison and they just go crazy for about an hour. It's great people watching, let me tell you...the other day there was a mom wearing OVER THE THIGH BOOTS, at 10AM. Full makeup, big hair. We were wondering where she was going after the mall?!

The only highlight of this trip is usually our swing through Forever 21. We are in there at 10AM which is the PERFECT time to go to a store like that. No kids, no crowds, no lines. Yesterday the boys were being exceptionally good, so we had some time to browse. I have been wanting to add to my bracelet collection, but haven't seen anything that has really hit me. until yesterday. I found these beauties, and knew I had to have them! For a whopping $6.80. God, I love a bargain...

who knew?

Happy Monday everyone! We had a nice snowy weekend, but you know what? I am sick of it! Enough already! Geeeeeez.

So, anyway, I had a lot of time to browse the internet and read up on my fave blogs. I have added a few to my reading list, one of them being The Zhush.  Which is a verb meaning"to Primp of fluff". I love it, it's the perfect name for this blog which is all about elements of style...be it the home, fashion, what have you. The author has fabulous taste and I always enjoy reading what she has to say. It's definitely one to add to your list!

This weekend she posted a great time waster. A home decorating quiz on Sproost.com that tells you what your decorating style is. Since I feel all over the place when it comes to home aesthetics, I knew this quiz would enlighten me. After  rating a bunch of home decor pictures, it turns out I am 43% French Eclectic, 28% Classic and I forget the 3rd one, I think it was Nantucket/Beachy.

It's funny because I don't think my house looks French Eclectic at all, but, it's a style I lean towards for sure. My husband had a lot of great furniture before we met, so I have inherited it. But, maybe our next home I will have the opportunity to mix things up a bit...here are some examples of French Eclectic from Sproost.com
