Lash out

How does one decide which Mascara to buy? There are so many options, how does one decide which is best? I have tried both the higher end ($25 plus)and then the cheapies, and to be honest with you, I tend to like the less expensive ones better!

I actually use 3 different ones, so I thought I would share them with you. I think all 3 give great results, and I never have the lash dandruff (the little black specks under the eye) that I hear people talking about...so, here goes:

For every day and for great definition of my lashes, I use Define a Lash by Maybelline. It's got a really long skinny wand, great for your bottom lashes. I also use this if I am in the hurry and just want something on my eyes. It retails for about $7

For a more bold lash, I use Cover Girl Lash Blast. Amy, from The Huntress Lives recommended this to me and I really love it. It takes some time to apply it, and it can clump on occasion, but overall it really plumps the lashes up to give a dramatic look. I think it's hard to use on the lower lashes, so that is when I use the Define A Lash. $7

My all-time favorite mascara right now for day or night is  Lights, Camera, Lashes by Tarte. This retails for $19, so I am using it sparingly. It gives amazing definition, plumping and it's easy to apply. Tarte products are also all natural, so if you have sensitive eyes, this would be good for you.

Do you have a favorite Mascara that I should try?

Colorful, Vintage, Ornate...

I just came across Shabby Vintage Mom's shop on Etsy. I am just loving her vibrant colors and ornate vintage frames that are upcycled into pretty mirrors or magnetic boards. I would love one of these in my kitchen.

Her frames would be perfect for my "gallery wall" project that I will hopefully be putting together this summer.

And the mirrors could not be more fantastic...OR AFFORDABLE! $82? YES PLEASE!

Mint

I tried on a silk blouse yesteday by Equipment at a local boutique called Standard Style, it was in the most gorgeous shade of Mint Green. I never, ever think to wear this color, but it is truly gorgeous on. I could only find one image of this online, and it is by blogger Something Navy. Isn't it a pretty shirt? It's so soft I could literally sleep in it.

So, after trying on the shirt I feel like I need this color in my life. It's such a beautiful hue...

do you love Mint Green too?

My obsession with the Karen Walker sunglasses started last year, you may remember THIS post...

commitment.

Some people think marriage is a commitment, I on the other hand feel like painting a room is a commitment. I don't know why I torment myself over paint color, but I do. It is a lot of work to paint a room, so I feel like you should really love it!

My husband and I had our house on the market for a few months and then decided to take it off, so we had put painting our bedroom and bathroom on hold. But, now since we have decided to stay, we need to figure out what to do with the 2 rooms. Problem is, I just can't commit. You may remember me talking about doing a Navy and White room a few months ago. Now, I am chickening out, I am not sure I will love dark navy on the walls.

After browsing the internet,  these rooms appealed to me...

Here is what we have that has to stay. We have dark wood furniture that is staying, as well as white bedding with brown trim (similar to the picture above). I wold love a white tufted headboard, but that's not going to happen. Our room is large with a big white tray ceiling, so doing a dark color wouldn't be an issue. I am just not sure I will love navy forever...

So, all of my decorator blog friends. What is your advice?

My uniform..

This spring and early summer (before it's blazing hot) You will probably see me sporting something along these lines...

It's very classic, and some would say basic. But these pieces can be worn a million different ways. Now if only I could fit those chloe wedges into my budget...
