The very best baby blanket

For all of you moms out there, you know how many blankets you receive as gifts. Some are hand knitted, some may have a minky dot, some might be fleece. It's really hard to tell not only which blanket your child will make their favorite, but also which will stand the test of time.

My cousin sent Vivi a blanket from an organic company called Robbie Adrian. I had never seen the blankets before, but when I opened it up and felt it, I knew that it would be the perfect snuggle blankie. It is made of a super soft, organic velour and edged with a natural silk charmeuse ruffle.

What I love about it is the size and the weight. It's not too big, so she can have it in the crib with her. Yet, it's just big enough to cover her up on cold nights. It washes up amazingly well and the trim seems to be holding up quite nicely after getting chewed on and washed frequently.

Our daughter just loves the blanket; before I lay her down at night she snuggles up with her head on my chest, holding on to the blanket and touching the ruffles. It's incredibly sweet, and obvious how comforting  she feels with her blanket.

The benefits of buying organic speak for themselves. Organic cotton used to produce their blankets are grown naturally without the use of harmful chemicals.

You will pay a little more for these blankets, but in the end I believe it is worth the investment to have a great blanket that you know is made extremely well and is safe for your child. I highly recommend the brand! They make a fantastic baby gift.

A mom on the go must have!

Since having Julian 4 years ago, one of the best new products I have found are the baby food pouches and portable spoons by Boon (Thanks to my friend Annie!). The old baby food cartons are not only bulky, but messy to open and carry around with you. Now with the pouches you have a top that can screw back on (to avoid spills) and the spoons attach right to the pouch which gives you one less thing to carry!

I found the Plum Organics spoons by Boon at Target for around $3 for 2 spoons. Online they sell a 3 pack set...this is the way to go, since we have found that somehow the tiny spoons get lost or accidentally tossed out.

Have you used these before? Do you love them too?

Zoli Pop Obsessed

I cannot remember for the life of me which blogger recommended Zoli Baby Gummy Sticks, but I wish I could because I would love to thank her! These are the BEST teething product that I have ever come across.

They look a bit like a tooth brush, which makes them super easy for your baby to hold. The end of the stick is soft rubber with bumpy edges that can gently massage the gums. And they can really reach the back gums, which most teethers don't reach. I like that it has a anti-choke guard which prevents over insertion into the mouth. Our little girl loves them, we take them wherever we go...

ZoLi stick in one hand, and chew beads also in tow...

They come in a pack of 2 for $10. And are worth every penny in my opinion!

And totally un-related to teething...we had a fantastic Halloween  Julian really was awesome this year. Last year we had to walk up to every door with him, this year he was a pro! Not scared of anything! Vivi even came along and slept soundly in her stroller. Can't wait until next year when she will be walking right along with her big bro!

You may remember this print that we put in our little girl's's one of my favorite pieces in the room.

As a baby gift, my talented cousin somehow created a screenprint of the "V" ( the first letter in our daughter's name), and made a onesie out of it! Such a clever and thoughtful gift. It finally fits her, and I LOVE it.

and in case you wanted to know, the adorable headband is by Wild Juniper on Etsy

Mommy Must Have: Chewbeads

It's hard to believe that our little girl is already teething! She's a drool monster, and her hands are constantly in her mouth. So, when I discovered Chewbeads, I knew we had to give them a try.

They are a collection of colorful necklaces and bracelets that are cute for mom to wear and 100% safe for babies to chew on. They are made of silicone (similar to pacifiers and bottle nipples) and are free of BPA, Phthalates, Cadmium or Lead. They are safe on babies gums and emerging teeth. They can be cleaned easily with soap and water and are even dishwasher safe!  For jewelry safety features click HERE.

I thought the bracelets would be easiest for Vivi to hold on to, and cute for me to wear. They are affordable at $12.50 a pop! So far, they seem to be a hit!

I think they make a fantastic shower or baby gift. And with all the cute colors, there is something for just about everyone!

My New Mommy "Fave" list...

It's been 3 years since our last baby, and I can't believe all of the new It's amazing all the updated gear, clothing lines and baby stuff there is to choose from. Just when you think you have it all you come across something new and exciting that you can't live without.

Hare are some of my favorite things that are getting us through the newborn stage right now...

For those of you like me, who tend to store important papers in many random places, this product is a dream. My friend Maria gave us the Baby Briefcase as a shower gift, and now all of Baby Vivienne's "documents", health information, and any other important paperwork is all in one place (and neatly labeled, I may add!) We just keep it in her closet, so I always know where to find it.

Aden + Anais was not around when my son was born, and it's a shame because their products are fantastic. I am totally obsessed with the swaddling blankets and my next purchase will be their "Burpy Bib". We have some rectangular burp cloths by them and they are by far my favorite. The muslin cotton just gets softer as you wash them, they are amazing!

Without any prompting or request of a new drying rack, my husband picked up this Boon bottle drying rack at Target. Not only does it look semi-cool, but it also works like a charm. Instead of having a huge rack on the counter, this uses less space and holds a good amount of bottles/parts.

If you have ever gone shopping for a nursing bra, you know that they are pretty unattractive. Most are nude colored and very BLAH. I came across these cute Gillian O'Malley nursing bras at Target and they are the best. They look feminine, give you good support and obviously the convenient front snaps to allow you to nurse. They call it a "sleep" bra, but I wear it during the day as well. $16.99 at Target

Wheat Collection is a Danish children's line that is fairly new to the US. Vivienne has 2 pieces from the line and I just love it. The collection is simple, with pretty details and made of beautiful fabrics.

Go Gently Baby is another adorable line that I have recently come across. The pieces are sweet and simple as can be. I love their diaper covers and little tops!

What are some of your favorite mom items that you can't live without?

With a Cherry on top...

Are you in the middle of a winter wonderland too? I know that even the southern states are getting snow today! We had so much fun sledding down our tiny, and I mean TINY hill on the side of our yard today. Even our dog took a ride, hoping to catch some video footage of this to post later. I was laughing so hard I was crying!

I have to thank the Trendy Tot for posting the link to Nini's Handmades Shop on Etsy today, I am now TOTALLY in love...

Pattern + Color

I had read about Oilo's Baby Line probably a year ago, and I had bookmarked their site. I was flipping through old bookmarks today and was glad to re-discover them! It is such a pretty line filled with fabulous pattern and sophisticated colors.

I also love that it is sort of gender neutral, so you can play with the colors a bit and add a touch of pink or a touch of blue where needed. This Wheels Motif crib collection caught my eye right away. I am really on a navy kick right now, it's such a clean color and looks great mixed with a kelly green, yellow or turquoise.

If you didn't do the striped lighting fixture, you could totally stripe one wall. I love the idea of mixing stripes with the abstract print in the bumper.

all of the crib sets are $399 and include the bumper, sheet and skirt. Swatch cards are also available for $5

and don't get me started on the lighting, I am obsessed with these striped lamps!!!!

They also come in solids as well...

Rub a dub dub

Sophie lovers UNITE! She is now equipped for the bathtub, complete with an inner tube and the ability to squirt. Is this just not adorable? We often used Sophie in the bath, but this solves the problem of ruining the squeaker and getting water inside of her.

I always love to give a new mom all the bath accessories as a shower gift and I think Bathing Sophie would fit in perfectly with some of my other bath time favorites...

The First Years tub was awesome. It has a side for infants and a side for them to sit up once they are able to.  $18.99 on Amazon

We tried many different bubble baths, but this is far and away our favorite. It smells SOOOO good! We use the bedtime lotion as well.

We have had these Munchkin cups in our bath since Julian was a baby and he still loves them! They have holes to sift the water through, and they stack. We even bring them to the pool! Seriously, hours of fun with these...$5.99 on Amazon

and we can't forget a hooded towel! These are the best, aren't they? I am loving this personalized whale towel by tiny Sunshine on Etsy $25

The Donkey?

Has anyone seen the new Bugaboo for 2? The name of the stroller is the Donkey. Hmmmm, not sure what to think of that. I did some research and the price has not been posted yet. Any guesses? If it's about $1000 for a single, will they be doubling it?

I would like your opinion, do you think the Bugaboo Donkey will be worth the price? My guess is probably no. But there are a lot of loyal Bugaboo users out there!

Just give me earflaps

Why is it that when there is a slight crispness in the air, you immediately take inventory of all the things you need for fall? I should have been thinking about this months ago, and now coat/hat weather is just about here!

Thankfully we have the coat situation covered (thanks to my dear friend Heather who found an adorable Appaman puffer coat for a crazy deal) But now we need to think about hats. Julian has a huge melon, poor kid. So the best looking hat on him is a tight knit style with earflaps. I love this style, on boys and girls alike.

Not sure which is cuter, the model or the hat?
But, I am DYING for this one, $23 by Heart Smiles

This flower version is organic cotton, and you can pick the colors! $28 also by Heart Smiles on Etsy

Great colors in this one by Karlys Closet on Etsy $21.50

For your double trouble... Only $32.50

I am not much into "animal" style hats, but these monkey ears are pretty adorable. By Cite Fuzz on Etsy...

Not an earflap, but equally as sweet. By Lovely Knits on Etsy $21.96

Loving this color combo, also by Lovely Knits $23.95
